Anyone seen an issue where Outlook 2011 for Mac, and ONLY that - not normal OWA nor any MAPI clients, gets disconnected over and over? They stay connected for roughly an hour, then Outlook reports the error in the SS below. They can go on and enter their password and connect again, but it happens over and over. Whats also strange as this only happens when they are on the local network here in the office, when they connect externally they can stay connected for hours with no problems. Anyone seen anything like this? He have Exchange 2010 SP1 (Build 218.15), and Outlook 2011 SP2 (14.2.3).
Long day, sorry. I think the internal thing was a red-herring, it just doesn't seem to happen at night. The CAS/HUB servers are just in a DNS round robin too.
Open Outlook on your Mac system and go to tools menu, select Accounts. Enter the E-mail address on the Enter your Exchange account information field. Choose username and password for authentication. Enter your username and password. Ensure that Configure automatically picks and then click Add Account.
But they have been like that for months, and this all started on Monday. I am seeing a error on the CAS server below. For pretty much everyone, and the helpdesk has started to hear complaints from Outlook 2010 PC users about getting disconnected as well, but its harder to pin down. I've tried searches for this, but the Status under Failure Information is very close a super common error that has nothing to do with this, that all I get is results for that.
I started a case with MS Support under our SA contract, waiting to hear what info they will need. An account failed to log on. Hmm, definitely seems to be a load issue, I had the Mac connected all weekend never got dropped. This morning, help desk is getting a ton of calls from PC users that cannot connect or are getting disconnected. No updates that I know of where done when this all started, but one of the exchange admins doesn't always let the rest of the team know when they do something. My boss is back this week, he built the system (and actually knows his stuff) hopefully he can take over the issue and figure something out.
